One of the realities we must face when it comes to our beauty regimens is that it does cost money. Let’s face it: treatments, moisturizers, beauty supplies and the like are not free, right? However, it does not have to be VERY expensive.

There are many ways to curb expenses allocated to beauty supplies and treatments, but we should be careful not to scrimp too much on these things. One of my new favorite ways of stretching my beauty budget the best it can is by purchasing group coupon deals that are available on an almost daily basis. These coupons allow me to try out things that I normally would not be able to try because it is way too expensive. Whether it be waxing services, RF treatments or laser hair removal sessions, these group coupons make treatments more affordable for the ordinary beauty afficionado. I must say, however, that we should be careful in picking out deals in these websites. It is important to make sure that the end merchant is a reputable one, especially when specialized treatments are involved. Do not risk your health and well-being for a cheap deal! While you might get a coupon for a discounted coloring treatment, you might find yourself damaging your hair permanently.

Besides group coupons, watch out also for giveaways and contests on Facebook and other social networking sites because most merchants do offer such for their subscribers. Oh, and one of the least expensive yet most effective beauty treatments/supplies ever: fresh water Remember to keep yourself hydrated throughout the day and that should give your skin a fresh healthy glow throughout the day.

Now that it is summer, we can’t help but try to find ways to cool ourselves down. It is but expected that we all flock to swimming pools, resorts and beaches, not just to flaunt our summer bodies, but to also get away from the humid, hot weather the season brings.

However, while we may find relief from the heat, if we are not careful, we open ourselves up to some health hazards because of overexposure to the sun and contaminated water.

While the dangers that may be posed by swimming, such as potential drowning, cramps, injuries and sunburn are often talked about and remembered by most people, there are a few health hazards posed by swimming, especially for women like us, that we often forget…and this is caused by staying in a wet swimsuit all day long! I’m talking about infections down there, or in our genital region.

Prolonged staying in wet swimwear, especially since it is made of stretchy nylon fabric, can allow for bacteria and yeast to flourish in our vaginal region, thus increasing the risk for yeast infection and urinary tract infections.

In order to avoid these risks, it is important to try to dry the area after swimming and to try not to stay in these suits for too long a time. Other hazards to watch out for include skin rashes and fungal infections.

Despite these potential dangers, let’s all enjoy the summer Remember, all we need to do is be more mindful and aware of what’s around us.

If you’re gearing up for a sizzling hot summer, it is important to remember to keep yourself protected from the sun’s harmful rays. While we may not immediately see the harmful effects of our time under the sun, believe me when I say it’s there!

Too much exposure to the sun can lead to long-term skin damage. Besides increasing the risk for skin cancer, prolonged exposure can lead to wrinkles, sun spots, and uneven skin tone. These can lead to premature aging.

This does not mean, however, that we need to give up on beach time and on soaking up the summer sun. We can still enjoy a sizzling hot summer with these tips to keep our skin protected and healthy:

1. Love the sunscreen! What’s the use of using all our moisturizers, skin treatments and the like if we forget the most basic thing, right? Before going out into the sun, lather up with sunblock that has a good SPF level that is suited for your needs. Reapply every so often.

2. Avoid being under the sun from 10 am to 4 pm. This is the prime time for the violent rays of the sun. Unfortunately, this is also the prime time for fun, especially if you want to get a tan. If you want to be out in the sun during these times, stay under the shade or pick a spot that offers some level of protection from direct exposure to the sun.

3. Cover up! Wear a hat or put on a sheer top that offers a layer of protection from the sun.

4. Last but not the least, hydrate! Drink lots of water while under the sun. This will allow your body to replenish what is lost while you are tanning, swimming or just enjoying your summer under the sun.

Make no mistake about it, summer is here. You can definitely feel the scorching heat of the sun taking center stage. Before you head out for the beach though, do remember to take good care of your hair with the following easy tips:

Eat right. Foods rich in protein help in making your hair healthy. Fish, eggs and tofu do the trick. In the same token, stay away from fatty and processed food which zap the life out of your hair.

Don’t smoke. Here’s yet another reason to ban the cigar. The toxic chemicals in cigarette smoke can damage the DNA in hair follicles.

Condition your hair. This is almost a no-brainer (so unlike those debt relief solutions you’ve been pondering on for the past weeks!). Try to use a leave-on conditioner to protect your hair from the sun and chlorine.

The hair is your crowning glory, so do all you can to protect it from the harmful rays of the sun. After all, wouldn’t you look hotter in that bikini if you had stunning hair to top it all off?

If you are in the market for cheap contact lenses, you may have questions about the differences between daily, weekly and monthly lenses. Choosing the right contacts depends on your lifestyle, comfort level and budget. Proper care for each type means protection for your eyes and getting the most value and use out of your lens.

Daily Contact Lens
Daily lens are disposed at the end of each day, making them convenient for those with busy schedules. Weekly and monthly lens (also known as extended wear lens) must be rinsed daily to prevent the accumulation of bacteria and protein which can lead to eye infections and dry eyes if left unchecked. Customers who suffer from allergies may find daily contacts to be a good fit since cleaning solution is not needed, avoiding potential allergy problems.

Weekly Contact Lens
Weekly lenses can be worn for up to a week and differ from daily disposables in that they must be removed each night by wearers before they go to bed to avoid eye irritation. This lens must be thoroughly rinsed before bed with a contact lenses cleaning solution to remove debris and protein and keep them moist for wear the next day, but they are typically more affordable than daily lenses.

Monthly Contact Lenses
Monthly lenses require the same care as daily contact lenses; they must be cleaned and stored in contact solution each night during sleep. These can last up to 30 days with proper care and are typically less expensive than the lens made for daily and weekly wear, making them a cost-effective alternative for customers on a budget.

There are some extended wear contacts available from brands like Acuvue, PureVision and Biofinity that can be safely worn day and night for up to 30 days because they are formulated with silicone hydrogel to allow more oxygen to your eye and maintain a suitable moisture level for comfort. This is especially convenient if you want to take a nap without having to first remove your lenses. Talk to an optician before buying any contacts to determine which ones are the most suitable for your eyes, lifestyle and finances.

Where to Find Cheap Contact Lenses
Once you have selected the lens type that will work the best for your eye needs, compare prices online or place an order with your doctor’s office. Buying several boxes at a time can lead to discounted prices, saving money over time. Some retailers offer free registration in frequent customer programmes that give you exclusive prices for daily, weekly or monthly lenses. Rebates, free shipping offers first-time customer coupons can help you save even more money on your purchase.

Try LensWay for a range of optical products.

The caffeine in coffee helps firm the skin and decrease the appearance of cellulite. Simply scrub your face or body with ground coffee, and this will help tighten your skin. Egg whites also act a natural skin astringent. Just whisk an egg and apply it to the face and neck and leave it on for 15 minutes, then rinse off.

A diet rich in fresh fruit and fiber helps keep you looking young, as the antioxidants in these help make your skin healthy.

Truth is, we will age, no matter what we do. But with proper skin care, we can help delay this process, so we can still manage to look younger than we really are.

First impressions last. Other than the way you look, how you smell does have a lasting impact on the people you meet. Whether your job entails providing a web conferencing service or teaching geometry to adolescents, your scent speaks volumes about your personality and affects how other people perceive you. Here’s how you should wear perfume:

Apply perfume to four or five pulse points on your body. It’s best to wear it low on your body, as fragrance tends to waft upwards. You could spray perfume behind your knees, inside your wrists, and on your ribs. Don’t rub it in your skin.

Perfume is meant to be applied on the skin, and not on your clothes. This allows the heat of your body to work on the scent. Spraying scent on your clothes just stains them.

To make the scent last longer, try layering. This means using a shower gel first, then moisturizer or lotion of the same fragrance. Finish it off with the perfume.

When it comes to storage, avoid placing your perfume in a place where it’s susceptible to heat, light or air. Store them in their bottles upside down, to keep air from entering.

Whatever you do, don’t over-apply perfume. You don’t want to drive people away.

In the office, as I was surreptitiously surfing the net for online college reviews, I couldn’t help but notice my co-worker’s toe. It seemed as if it had been run over by a speeding truck. It was covered in a thick bandage and looked swollen as hell. She told me she just had surgery on that toe, because of a nasty nail infection from a nail salon she recently went to.

If in the past you have likewise fallen prey to supposedly experts who give careless manicures, here are some points to remember the next time you hit the nail salon:

Bring your own stuff. It wouldn’t hurt to be scrupulously clean when having manicures. Buy your own manicure or pedicure kit and bring it with you to wherever you get your nails done. Don’t forget to disinfect your tools after each use, even if you’re the only one using it. If you can, take off your old nail polish from your nails before going to the salon, or bring your own nail polish remover.

Inspect the salon. You don’t have to walk around with a magnifying glass in hand. Discreetly check if their manicure tables and floors are clean, and if the trash bin is properly bagged and covered. See if their disinfectant containers are clean.

Be sure that the pedicure tub is cleaned after each use. Check if the manicurists wash their hands before and after each client, and that each client washes his or her hands prior to the manicure.

Take the extra time to make sure everything used is sanitary. In the long run, it’ll spare you a big headache- and fungi-infested nails.

One of the most neglected body parts is our feet. But just because every other body part lords over it, doesn’t mean you have to neglect them. Remember, you wouldn’t be able to get from here to there without them. Yes, they’re more important than your new Blackberry playbook. So, it only makes perfect sense to take care of them. Here are a few natural ways to care for your feet:

After a tiring day, you can give your feet the pampering it needs by soaking them in a bowl of warm water with mineral salts. You may even add pebbles and roll your feet back and forth as you soak. That will give them a soothing massage. You can also add a few drops of lemon juice, rose petals or lavender oil to the water for a more relaxing effect.

To get rid of dead skin on your feet, rub them with a pumice stone. Wash feet well, then pat them dry and massage with a moisturizing lotion.

We’ve seen it all too often. Hair which seems to have a mind of its own, poking out in every imaginable direction like pop up displays at an art exhibit. Before you resort to pulling out that head of hair, take heart in the fact that there are ways to help tame that unruly mane.

First, it helps to understand the causes of frizzy hair. Dry hair is lighter than moisturized hair, so it has a tendency to fly off in every direction, away from the head. Aside from dryness, hair which has been subjected to harsh chemicals and treatments likewise becomes a frizz victim.

Common sense dictates that the way to combat frizz is to moisturize the hair. A deep conditioning treatment once a week helps keep hair supple. Coconut, jojoba, and olive oil are some of the natural substances which help to quickly moisturize hair. Just a few drops worked into the hair, starting from roots to tips, does the job.

Try to minimize the use of hot styling tools such as flat irons and hair dryers, as they can leave your hair dry and damaged. If you must use a flat iron, apply some silicon-based serum prior to styling, to help minimize the probability of frizz.
