Cheese and it's effect on your health

Cheese is one of those foods that attracts a lot of attention. It has scientists telling us a million and one of, often contradictory, things. For many of us that leaves us in the dark over exactly how cheese can effect our health.

Our study of reports from experts around the globe hasn’t proven much better. It seems experts are at odds with each other over what sort of effect cheese has upon a persons health.

Pro Cheese

The U.S Surgeon General release a report that shows Dental Caries is an issue that is silently sweeping the nation. But cheese not only carries no Dental Caries, but also contains enzymes that can help prevent such issue (which lead to the breakdown of tooth enamel).

More well known is that cheese is a good source of calcium, which is vital for the growth of healthy teeth and bones.

Against Cheese

However our research indicates that there are far more reasons not to eat cheese. Reasons include:

High in fat. Most cheese has a very high fat content, which can increase the likelihood of obesity, heart disease, diabetes and much more.
Cholesterol. Cheese is very high in cholesterol, another factor in increasing the likelihood of heart disease.
Lactose intolerant: Many people have lactose intolerance, of which they might be unaware – there are differing levels of severity. But this is areal issue for many people around the globe.
Sodium: Many cheeses contain high levels of sodium, which can again cause issues with heart disease.

We’ll leave it to you to make your own judgment call as to whether cheese will have a good or bad effect on your health.
